Black-and-white portrait of Heather A. Holliger

About Heather A. Holliger

I have been teaching in higher education for nearly two decades and hold graduate degrees in English teaching and creative writing. I am a passionate teacher, committed to helping my students grow as critical and creative thinkers and gain confidence in their writing voices. I also have a background in the nonprofit sector and community arts organizations.

In addition to teaching, I write poetry and creative nonfiction, and my work has been featured in numerous literary journals. My writing often turns to memory, loss, place, embodiment, and the natural world—and to small moments that bring us joy and remind us of what it feels like to be fully alive.
